General

The best times to visit Bhutan are during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).

Spring: Beautiful rhododendron blooms, clear skies, and pleasant temperatures. Great for trekking and sightseeing.

Autumn: Crystal clear views of the Himalayas, comfortable weather, and several major festivals including Thimphu Tshechu.

Summer (June-August) brings monsoon rains, while winter (December-February) is cold but offers fewer tourists and lower prices.

The Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) is the local currency, pegged to the Indian Rupee (which is also accepted). ATMs are available in major towns, and credit cards are accepted at larger hotels and shops. We recommend carrying some cash for smaller purchases.

Visa & Entry

Yes, all international visitors (except citizens of India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives) require a visa to enter Bhutan. The visa must be arranged through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator before arrival.

The SDF is USD 100 per person per night, mandatory for all international tourists. This fee contributes to Bhutan’s free healthcare, education, and environmental conservation efforts. Children under 12 receive a 50% discount.

Booking & Payment

Yes, it is a government regulation that you must use a licensed Bhutanese tour operator or one of their international partners to book your travel to Bhutan.

We accept bank transfers (wire transfer) and major credit cards. A deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the balance due before your arrival in Bhutan.

Travel & Accommodation

You can fly into Paro International Airport via Drukair or Bhutan Airlines from cities like Bangkok, Singapore, Kathmandu, Delhi, and Kolkata. Alternatively, you can enter by road from India through Phuentsholing or other border towns.

Bhutan is one of the safest countries in the world for tourists. Crime rates are extremely low, and the Bhutanese people are known for their hospitality. You’ll be accompanied by a licensed guide throughout your trip.
