This 6-day Bumdra Trek offers a gentle and immersive Himalayan experience, combining Paro Valley sightseeing, gradual high-altitude trekking, and deep spiritual encounters. Designed for travelers who prefer a relaxed pace, the journey allows ample time to explore Paro’s cultural landmarks, trek through pristine forests, camp near the sacred Bumdra Monastery, and conclude with a meaningful hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery before departure.

Day to Day Itinerary

Arrive at Paro International Airport and receive a warm welcome from your guide. After completing immigration formalities, transfer to your hotel. Evening at leisure to rest and acclimatize.

Accommodation: Overnight in Paro

After breakfast, enjoy sightseeing in Paro Valley. Visit Rinpung Dzong, the traditional wooden cantilever bridge, and Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples. Afternoon free for leisure or trek preparation.

After an early breakfast, drive to Sang Choekor Buddhist College (2,800m). Begin trekking through pine and rhododendron forests, reaching scenic prayer-flag viewpoints overlooking Paro and Do Chhu valleys. Lunch at a small Tshamkhang (hermitage) en route. Continue to the alpine meadow and Bumdra campsite (3,800m) near Bumdra Monastery. Tea break and monastery visit if unoccupied.

Accommodation: Trek: approx. 3–4 hours Overnight at campsite

A relaxed day for acclimatization and exploration. Optional hike to a higher ridge (up to approx. 4,000m) for panoramic Himalayan views. Visit an ancient sky burial site for those interested. Rest, meditation, and photography in the serene mountain environment.

Accommodation: Overnight at campsite

After breakfast, descend through pine and rhododendron forests along the monks’ zig-zag trail. Pass sacred viewpoints including Sangtopelri (Heaven on Earth) with dramatic views of Taktsang Monastery below. Continue to Tiger’s Nest, crossing the gorge and waterfall to reach the monastery. After the visit, descend and drive back to Paro.

After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Depart Bhutan with wonderful memories of trekking, culture, and spirituality. Tashi Delek!
