Punakha Festival

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by BLZ Team Members. After completing arrival formalities, drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. Enjoy scenic views of rivers, traditional villages, and mountain landscapes along the way. After checking into your hotel, you may take an evening stroll around Thimphu town and visit local markets.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit key attractions such as the Buddha Dordenma Statue, Memorial Chorten, National Institute for Zorig Chusum (Traditional Arts & Crafts School), and Tashichho Dzong. The rest of the day can be spent exploring the town or relaxing at your hotel.

After breakfast, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges on a clear day. Descend through beautiful forests and valleys to reach Punakha. On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Punakha Valley.

After breakfast, attend the vibrant Punakha Tshechu Festival held at the majestic Punakha Dzong. Witness colorful mask dances, traditional music, and sacred rituals performed by monks and local communities. This festival offers a unique opportunity to experience Bhutan’s living culture and spiritual traditions.

After breakfast, explore Punakha Valley, visiting the beautiful Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. You may also visit Chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility temple, through a pleasant village walk. After sightseeing, drive back to Paro, enjoying scenic countryside views along the way.

Early in the morning, begin the hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic landmark, dramatically perched on a cliff face. Enjoy breathtaking views along the trail and explore the sacred monastery. After descending, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan.
